The lesson will be covering the Standard of Learning (SOL) 2.7 which states that “students will expand vocabulary when reading.” This lesson in particular will concentrate on part (c) of the standard that states students will, “use knowledge of antonyms and synonyms.”

The lesson will focus on the definition of synonym and antonym and then the students will apply the concept using the example words “good,” “happy,” “big,” “difficult,” and “beautiful.” Our classroom has twenty students, five of which have special needs due to their exceptionalities. FIVE OF WHICH HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS 1-Henry is a 7-year-old boy with an auditory processing disorder. 2-Maggie is an upbeat 8-year-old girl with a diagnosed emotional/behavioral disorder of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. 3-Tana is a 7-year-old girl with autism disorder. 4- Rayan is an 8 years old girl. she is diagnosed with Dyslexia 5-Gabe is a friendly 7-year-old who is diagnosed with AD/HD.
